Classic Game Room HD – NEO-GEO CD console review
Classic Game Room HD reviews the SNK NEO-GEO CD from 1994. This CD version of the amazing Neo-Geo AES plays many of the same games in CD form. Plagued by awful loading times thanks to the 1x speed CD drive in the game system, the NeoGeo CD is the least popular Neo Geo out there but CGR thinks it is a good buy for those looking for SNK games and Japanese release for a better price. The Neo Geo CD has no region encoding and will play Japan region Japanese Neo Geo video games (I’ve only tested with an NTSC Neo Geo CD). The Neo Geo CD has composite video, S-Video and stereo audio. Plays audio CDs. Neo Geo CD consoles can be had for a fraction of the price that the Neo Geo AES and Neo-Geo MVS sell for. Games are usually much less money as well. This CGR review of the Neo Geo CD shows the game console in HD with numerous NeoGeo CD games.

the other day i saw one of this but without the power cord and ‘unknown’ condition… so do you guys think is it worth checking out or…
@burzumaske20: All depends on the game really. I found some games took double the time to load than the Saturn. (Like Galaxy Fight as one example)
However, what I DO like about the Neo CD, is that say you lose a fight, and you have to do the same fight again, it’ll completely skip loading as the character information is already in RAM instead of re-loading after every time. So if you’re bad at fighters and keep losing, you’ll at least like that aspect! (In the fighters I tried anywho)

@Tamanozke oh ok, haha I thought for a minute there games for the neo geo suck,I notice on other videos loading times are 30 seconds,while I do have quite a bit of snk games on sega saturn,the load times are much shorter.

I have a Neo Geo CD. Pretty great console!
Fighters suck on it, but the other genres like the action games and sports games, completely awesome!
I too, would recommend this system to the casual Neo Geo fan.
i just got this console today for 140 bucks with all cords 1 controller and 16 games(burned copies) then paid 40 bucks for a neo geo cd arcade stick mint in the box today at a video game store its fucking badass its already my favorite game console i love the controller as well

@LiverpoolVasco and how has the ps3 inspired anyone? I can’t think of one thing if anything its catching on to other console’s ideas. Wii’s motion sensing, Xbox’s arcade etc.
